He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sauerwein and Dorothy Sauerwein (Schiller); his brother Robert Sauerwein; and his brother-in-law Joseph Steiner. He is survived by: his wife Erma Sauerwein of Pine City; his children, William Sauerwein (Robyn) of Minneapolis, Brenda Sauerwein of Stacy, Brian Sauerwein (Katherine), Cynthia Kleinschmidt (Ervin) of Stacy and Corteze Sauerwein of Minneapolis; his grandchildren, Brandon Kabits, Stefan Cook, Ryan Nelson, Lauren Sauerwein, Elliott Kleinschmidt, Dylan Sauerwein, Stephanie Kleinschmidt, Westin Kleinschmidt, Cassiel Jones and Honesty Sauerwein; his great grandchildren, Hazel Nelson, Colton Cook, Mabel Nelson and Chole Cook; and his siblings, Margaret Mahoney (Eugene), Dorothy Steiner and Thomas Sauerwein. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
