He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Pavek and Helen Pavek (Skalicky); his brothers, Ray Pavek (Marge) and Clayton Pavek (Rita); and his niece Joanne Pavek Shober.

He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Moni Shatava (LeRoy) of Pine City, Deb Valvoda of Pine City, Carol Ruder (Matt) of Cambridge, Brian Pavek of Hinckley, Richard Pavek (Kim) of Hinckley and Ronald Pavek (Jeanie) of Duluth.
