He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ziegler and Amanda Ziegler (Schultz); his son Daniel; his son-in-law Dean Drewes; his brother Alfred; and his sister-in-law Nadine Ziegler.

He is survived by: his wife Helen Schamberger; his children, Sheila Vagle (Dennis) of Perham, Wanda Drewes of Perham and Larry Ziegler (Lori) of Perham; and his sisters, Arlene Rusche (Allen) and Luella Breitenfeldt (Norman).
