He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Brasel and Elva Brasel (Huwe); his parents-in-law, Lorraine Hemmelgarn and Ervin Hemmelgarn; his brothers, Leroy Brasel, Donald Brasel and Gerald Brasel; and his siblings-in-law, Wayne Lako, Alden Selander, Glenn Jaakola, Brenda Mickelson, Connie Brasel, Carole Brasel and Joyce Brasel.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Hemmelgarn; his son Justin; his stepgrandchildren, DJ Altstadt (Erika) and Taylor Altstadt (Ashley); his siblings, Melvin Brasel, Doris Jaakola, Viola Lako, Arlo Brasel (Sandy), Eldon Brasel (Carol), Noreen Selander, Connie Bortle (Chuck) and Donna Seifert (Walter); and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Brasel, Bonnie Kroetsch (Ken), Cindy Hemmelgarn and Robert Mickelson (Paula). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (500 6th Ave SW, Perham, MN 56573). A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location.
