She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Niemela and Bertha Niemela; her parents-in-law, Thomas and Ann Elder; her brother Kenneth Lawrence Niemela; her daughter Stephanie Jean Parkin (Elder); her granddaughter Paige Renee D'Agostino; her nephew Richard Niemela; and her nieces, Ann Elder and Jean Elder.
She is survived by: her husband Donald W. Elder; her daughters, Robbin Elder, Kelly Elder and Dawn D'Agostino (Elder); her grandchildren, Luke Andersen, Sara Schepmann (Andersen), Daniel Elder, Kady D'Agostino, Jake D'Agostino, Christian Bueng and Cameron Bueng; her great grandchildren, Emmet and Easton Andersen; and her siblings, Duane Niemela, Betty Kennedy and Beverly Romero. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
