Irene Annie (Dibble) Vargo Obituary

Irene (Dibble) Vargo, of Pequot Lakes, passed away at home on January 1, 2022 at the age of 86. She was born to Emery and Mary Dibble on July 25, 1934, and was the youngest of 11 children. Irene married Frank Vargo on June 10, 1950, and they were married 70 years. They farmed and raised their family at their home in Home Brook Township their entire married life. Frank and Irene had seven children, 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Irene is survived by her children: Gloria Benzie of Pillager, Vicki (Bruce) Heuer of Bloomington, Tamara (Matt) Malan of Brainerd, and Dale (Connie) Vargo, Kevin (Wendy) Vargo, Scott Vargo and Melissa Vargo all of Pequot Lakes; as well as two sisters, Marge Austin of Grand Rapids, MN, and Debbie Pollock of Pine River. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents; brothers: Carl, Jim, and Raymond; sisters: Jean, Esther, Ruby, Dorothy; and an infant sister.

The family is planning a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
