He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Johnson and Katie Johnson (Ruter); his former wife Martha Portinga; his sisters, Sharon Triden and Arlene Engel; and his brother-in-law Robert Bluhm.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; his children, Tim Johnson (Julie), Perry Johnson, Suzanne Steinhaus (Mike) and Julie Luepke (Bruce); his grandchildren, Caryn McGeary (Danny), Stephanie O'Leary (Tom), Dustin Johnson (Kari), Kristi Bracelin (Justin), Kevin Steinhaus (Bre), Aaron Doraska, Adam Doraska (Mackenzie), Jenna DeLair and Jessica DeLair; his sister Lorraine Bluhm; his stepdaughters, Cindy Barham (Rich) and Jeanne Noreen; and his stepgrandchildren, Grant Noreen (Paige), Cole Noreen, Liz Barham and Allie Barham. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
