He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Backstrom and Jennie Backstrom (Gustafson); his wife Leone; and his brother Lennart (Dorothy). He is survived by: his children, Lynnette Zimmerman (Steven), Steven Backstrom (Barb), Anita Boen (Kevin) and Scott Backstrom (Jackie); his grandchildren, Melissa, Tyler, Chris, Stephanie, Angie, Robert, Greg, Amanda and Leah; and his sister Marilyn Nodsle. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter.
