He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Rutzen and Mary Rutzen (Pierce); his brothers, Dale and Donald; and his sister-in-law Connie.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Elizabeth Thomsen; his daughter Dena Johnson (Wayne) of Pelican Rapids; his grandchildren, Ian (Alex Gerchy) of Pelican Rapids and Grace of Pelican Rapids; his brother David Rutzen (Wanda) of Worthington, MN; and his siblings-in-law, Rollie Thomsen (Jolene) of Round Lake, MN, Irene Rutzen and Carol Rutzen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
