She was predeceased by: her parents, William Hanenburg and Kathryn Hanenburg (Bouma); her husband John Ruis; her son Alan; her grandson Steve Moos; her great grandchild Riley Ash; her siblings, Jerome (Shirley Hanenburg), Betty (Melvin Droogsma) and Harlin; her half-brother Enno Bouma; and also Marlin Hanenburg.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Moos (Paul) of Rock Valley, Bill Ruis (Pam) of Princeton and Tom Ruis (Dianne) of Crosslake; her daughter-in-law Marla Ruis of Milaca; her siblings, Ed Hanenburg (Dorothy) and Dort Brink (Doug); and her sister-in-law Lois Hanenburg. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
