With solemn reverence, we commemorate Russell Charles Schmidt of Paynesville, Minnesota, whose life came to an end on February 3, 2025 at the age of 88, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schmidt and Pearl Schmidt (Rud); and his brothers, David Schmidt and Stanley Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Joan Flanders; his children, Debi Johnson (Oluf) of Paynesville, Charles "Chuck" Schmidt of Paynesville and Richard Schmidt (Kathy) of New London; and his sister Ramona Frank of Paynesville. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Nordland Lutheran Church (18510 180th Ave NE, Paynesville, MN 56362). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, February 10th 2025 at the Irving Mission Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Nordland Lutheran Church.
