It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce V. Hoppe of Paynesville, Minnesota, who passed away on February 15, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joyce V. Hoppe to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Donatus Elfering and Geraldine "Tootie" Elfering (Ehlert); her husband Pete; her brothers, Jerry and Kenny; and her daughter-in-law Nancy Hoppe.
She is survived by: her children, Steve of Hackensack, Kevin (Paula Maus) of Hackensack, Sheila Spanier (Jeff) of Grantsburg, WI, Pat (Kelly) of Becker, Jody Kotschevar (Mike) of Paynesville, Rod (Jessica) of Cannon Falls, Jennifer Hoppe of Minneapolis and Maria Croatt (Chris) of Madison, MN; her grandchildren, Missy Grosberg (Andy), Chala Medalen (Jesse), Cassandra Cuka (Tanner), Chase Hoppe, Michael (Denesa), Ryan (Jenny), Brad Spanier (Mandi), Josh Hoppe, Megan Schug (Weston), Amanda Hoppe, Krista Listul (Kelvin), Eric Kotschevar, James Hall, Jenna and Jacob Croatt; her siblings, Don, Roger (Nancy), Tim (Joan), Diane (Burt), Shirley (Joe), Dorothy (Ron) and Debbie (Dennis); and her sisters-in-law, Annette Elfering and Mary Lou Christensen. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 19 Feb Visitation St., Louis Catholic. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Louis Catholic Church (505 Burr St, Paynesville, MN 56362).
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
