He was predeceased by: his parents, Eric Peterson and Mary Peterson (Klein); his wife Mary Whiteford; and his siblings, Charles and Eleanor.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Kunkel (Steve) of Parkers Prairie, Jay of Starbuck and Kevin of Minnesota; his sisters, Ruth Hammer of Henning, Shirley Solberg of Zion and Sharon Rowan of Arnold, Missouri; his grandchildren, Randi Peterson (Matt Brauns) of Fridley, Shawn Kunkel (Ashley) of Albertville, Tylor Kunkel (Alli) of Andover and Jaelene Ziemer of Edina; his great grandchildren, Easton Kunkel and Morgan Brauns; and his close friends, Cam, Delores Staples, Laurene Holms and Katelyn Birch.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (709 S Douglas Ave, Parkers Prairie, MN 56361).
