It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Jean Guegel of Park Rapids, Minnesota, who passed away on April 15, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her son Michael; her grandson Randy; her siblings, Arnold and Charlotte Anderson; and her brothers-in-law, LaVere James and Richard Anderson.
She is survived by: her husband William; her daughters, Debra Proudfoot (Michael) of Cocoa and Lori Griess (Randal) of Park Rapids, MN; her daughter-in-law Rose Guegel of Spokane, WA; her grandchildren, Brandi Backmann (Matthew) of Park Rapids, MN, Bradley Griess (Tara), Bryan Griess (Ellie), Shawnee Jones (Cory) and Shalyn Guegel of Spokane, Washington.; her great grandchildren, Dominic, Natalie Backmann, Mack, Cylus Griess and Liam Jones; and her sisters, LaMae James of Park Rapids and Beverely Pearson of Park Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the St. Johns Entry project or the Hubbard County All Veterans Memorial.
