He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Hanke and Marie Hanke (Cottrall); his grandfather Raymond; his son Solomon; and his sister-in-law Corinne Hanke.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Johnson; his grandson Solomon; his children, Steven Hanke (Kate) of Grand Rapids, MN, Samantha Pickett (Scott) of Park Rapids, MN, Stacia Martin (Kris) of Nisswa, MN and Suzanna Kieselbach (Matthew) of Noblesville, IN; his grandchildren, Chris (Rachel), Franki (Julian), Trey, Fletcher (April) of Adrianna, RJ, Drew, Madeline, Isaac, Vivian, Scotty, Arron, Sage, Brianna, Selvin, Damion (Sydney), Chase, MacKenzie, Emmalin, Elijah, Isaiah, Alayna and Josiah; his stepgrandchildren, Tanner and Kaitlynn; his great grandchildren, Harper, Greyson and Grace; and his siblings, Ted Hanke of Cummings, IA, Chris Hanke of Akeley, MN and Barbara Riggs (Gary) of Akeley, MN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
