He was predeceased by: his parents, Irene Fjalstad and Gunder Fjalstad; and his brother Wayne. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Fjalstad; his children, Lisa Kottke (Matt) and Jon Fjalstad (Carol); his grandchildren, Caleb Kottke (Maddy), Sarah Ehresmann (Jacob), Molly and Jack Fjalstad; his great grandchildren, Paislee and Jameson Sherman Kottke; and his sister Mona Anderson (Larry).

Memorials are preferred to the Owatonna Foundation, or to Trinity Lutheran Church.
