He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Akers (Doc) and Martha Akers (Gumm). He is survived by: his wife LaGene Nimrod; his children, Jeri Blazek (Mike) and Mikel Akers (Jill); and his sister Debbie Brown (Rick).
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cornerstone Evangelical Church (1500 SE 18th St, Owatonna, MN 55060).
