He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kern and Doris Kern (Chavie); his sister Kathy; and his brothers-in-law, Clem Sammon and Lowell Peterson.
He is survived by: his son Nicholas Kern (Kristi) of New Richland; his grandson Grayson Kern; his son Rev. Jason Kern of Winona; and his siblings, Ralph Kern (Shirley), Ronald Kern (Peg), Joyce Sammon, Marge Schmidt (Ray), Mary Zuranski (Ed), Sharon Gray (Jim), Martin Kern (Cindy) and Kenneth Kern (Lisa).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
