He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sutter and Lucille Sutter (Polsfuss); his son Josh Sutter; his grandson Josh Hanks; his brother Darryl Sutter; and his son-in-law Keith Lowrey.

He is survived by: his wife Darlene Sutter (Jenkins) of Owatonna; his daughter Rachel Kennedy; his stepchildren, Brenda Lowrey and Scott Enzenauer (Donna); and his brothers, Joel Sutter and Jim Sutter. He is also survived by four grandchildren; six great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
