He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Thamert and Marie Thamert (Deml); and his siblings, Father Mark Thamert and Mary Thamert (Keith) of Farmington, MN.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Thamert (Steichen); his children, Cheryl Ginnetti (Tony) of Owatonna, Donna Wheeler (John) of Owatonna, John (Tracy) of Owatonna, Kelly Irwin (Tim) of Pompano Beach, FL, Amy Provo (Mark) of Clarksville, TN, David (Emily) of Owatonna, Jerry (Jennifer) of Ramsey, MN and Katie Holmstadt (Steve) of Byron, MN.; and his siblings, Robert (Barb) of Lakeville and Virgina "Jinny" Wanous of Owatonna.

Memorials are preferred to St. Mary's School in Owatonna MN, or Bethlehem Academy in Faribault MN.
