He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Nelson and Randie Nelson (Ohnstad); his wife Ruthann Nelson (Erie); and his siblings, Rose Nygaard (Nelson), Arnold, Wallace and John Nelson.
He is survived by: his close friends, Clifford and Ruthann; his children, Gene Nelson (Julie), Brian Nelson (Patricia) and Jane Krizek (Boris); his grandchildren, Jeff Nelson, Joe Nelson, Phillip Nelson, Zachary Nelson, Abigail Nelson, Jeremy Krizek, Kira Krizek and Cameron Krizek; and his sister Jondi Nelson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
