Robert Hazen Obituary
Robert William Hazen 1/3/1971 - 3/2/2024
Rob was born in Grand Island, NE to parents James & Shirley Hazen. He had 2 older brothers & a little sister. They all moved to Spokane, WA around 1976, where he resided until 2011 when he moved to Billings, MT to be with Kelly. They married on April 28, 2012. In 2021 Rob & Kelly moved to Ottertail, MN.
Rob's biggest passion was music. He loved sharing his gift of music to anyone that wanted to learn or just listen to him play. When Rob was 11, he started playing the standup bass. He wanted to play in the Jr. Lilac parade in Spokane, but he couldn't take his standup bass. He learned how to play an electric bass & was able to join the parade. He did however, get to play the standup bass in the Jr. Symphony when he was 12. He was in numerous bands including Atomic Clock. He was a phenomenal bass player. We are all going to miss hearing him play.
Rob earned his CDL in November 2019. He met his best friend Guy Powell in truck driving school, who he remained close with until the end. Rob loved driving over the road. He enjoyed seeing the sites & going to new places. When he wasn't driving, he was at home on the lake fishing.
Rob had 5 children, Robert Hazen II, Kayla Schoonover, Kyle Hazen, Cody Hazen, & Natashia Porter, all of Spokane WA. He also had a stepdaughter Katy Sadler of Billings, MT.
Rob is preceded in death by both his paternal & maternal grandparents & his Uncle Bill.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Hazen of Ottertail, MN, parents James & Shirley Hazen of Spokane, siblings Rick Hazen (Lori), Scott Hazen (Crystal) & Michelle Hazen-Turlock (Brian), his children and grandchildren. He also had numerous other family members & friends.
Rob passed away from a short battle with cancer. Cremation has taken place. Memorials will be held at a later date TBD. Rob was loved by so many & loved so many. Special Thank you to anyone who was by his side during his journey
