He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Gunkel and Mattie Gunkel (Abbott); and his brother-in-law Gary Newborg (Kathy Toso). He is survived by: his stepson Nathan Hammer (Shanna); his stepgrandchildren, Austin and Madysen; his siblings, Louis Gunkel (Sonja), Nancy Newborg, John Gunkel (Vicky) and Renae Gunkel; and his close friend Deb Karst. He is also survived by his family and friends.
