He was predeceased by: his parents, Bob Berndt of Osseo and Grace Berndt of Osseo; and his significant other Donna Wozny. He is survived by: his siblings, Bonnie Crow (Dick), Bill Berndt (Sue) and George Berndt (Kathy). He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
