He was predeceased by: his son Mike; his parents, Paul and Marjorie; and his siblings, Paul, Peggy and Joe.

He is survived by: his wife Alice; his children, Jim (Shannon), Karen Kahler (Derek), Steve (Nancy) and Tom (Stephani); his grandchildren, Kaity, Alex, Daniel (Molly), Patrick, Cameron, Henry, Ethan (Emily) of Owen, AJ, Eric (Lily), Joelle, Aly, Taylor and Anna; his great grandchild Clayton; and his siblings, Bill and Mary Johnson (Doug).

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Evans-Nordby Funeral Home (34 2nd St NE, Osseo, MN 55369). A prayer was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (9100 93rd Ave N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445). A burial was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at the St. Vincent's Cemetery (8601 93rd Ave N, Osseo, MN 55369).
