She was predeceased by: her parents, Kristian Vatsaas (Sigrid Vatsaas) and Sigrid Vatsaas; her siblings, Christian Vatsaas and Tullik Bergliot Ostigaard; and her granddaughter Faith Madsen.

She is survived by: her husband Don; her children, Joan Fleming (Jim), John Madsen (Carolyn) and James Madsen (Anna); and her brother David.
