She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Schmidt and Pauline Schmidt (Campbell); her husband Gary Mikkelson of Osakis; her children, Keith Mikkelson (Jacqueline) of West Chester, PA, Lisa Steinert (Jason) of Osakis and Christopher Mikkelson (Amanda) of Winter Garden, FL; her grandchildren, Mikkel, Preston, Riley Steinert, Kallie and Hailey Mikkelson; and her siblings, Judy Conn (Don), Tom Schmidt (Sandy), Gretchen Paulson (David), Doug Schmidt, Polly Holder (Jack), Bruce Schmidt (Deb), Connie Soltis (Rob) and Kathy Schmidt. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
