It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Lee Halvorson of Ortonville, Minnesota, who passed away on June 11, 2022, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hjalmar Halvorson, Sr. and Geraldine Halvorson (Holmquist); his daughter Hannah; his siblings, Roger, Randy, Danny, Allan Mueller, Sr., Darwin "Dumpy" Mueller, Bob Halvorson, Mark Halvorson, Sharyn Anderson, Carolyn Daigle and Phyllis Schoenrock; his brothers-in-law, Bud Anderson, Ralph Schiesser and Bill Birmingham; his nephew Dustin Torkelson; and his parents-in-law, Bev Starr (Thielke) and Paul Starr.
He is survived by: his wife Shay Starr of Ortonville, MN; his children, Amanda Halvorson of Watertown, SD, Abby Lewandoski (Travis) of Watertown, SD, Brittany Hoff (Jeremy) of Eureka, SD, Kylee Appel of Browns Valley, MN, Devan Appel of Browns Valley, MN, Evan Starr of Ortonville, MN and Jackson Zemke of Ortonville, MN; his grandchildren, Braedyn, Bayn, Jerimany, Harlow, Harper and Miley of Jackson, E. J.; his siblings, Arlys Schiesser of Ortonville, MN, Julie Macziewski (Bob) of Montevideo, MN, Lorrie Laumann (Keith) of Granite Falls, MN, Deb Gartner (Joe) of Golden Valley, MN, Dennis Mueller (Angie) of Alexander, ND, Lynda Ruschen (Kevin) of Alexandria, MN, Jimmer Halvorson (Karen), John Halvorson (Betty) of Monticello, MN, Mickey Christensen (Tom) of Janesville, MN, Rod Halvorson of St. Paul, MN and Wendy Steuck of Chokio, MN; his siblings-in-law, Dianna Mueller, Melissa Starr and Shawn Starr; and his close friends, Randy Schmieg, Mark Frost and Belle Belle.
