She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecelia Strei (Karels) and Joseph Strei; her husband Daniel; her children, Natalie Holmquist, Cynthia Dornbusch and Randy Schmieg; and her siblings, Tom Strei, Ken Strei, Father Jerome Strei, Phyllis Mueller, Rosemary Kelzer and Cleora Strei.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Dan, Eunice and Big; her children, Debbie McCormick (Pat) of Redmond, WA, Mary Fenhaus (Rod) of Corona, SD and Tony Schmieg; her daughter-in-law Brenda Schmieg; her siblings, Eileen Christopherson of St. Paul, MN, Sister Evelyn Strei of Crookston, MN, Donald Strei of Minneapolis, MN, Joe Strei (Kathy) of Madison, MN and Jerry Strei of Largo, FL; and her grandchildren, Kelly McCormick (Hayley Gardner), Casey McCormick (Jasmine), Michael McCormick (Christa), Katie Murphy (Ryan), Brandon Schmieg (Jada), Brianna Kirchberg (Craig), Keenan Schmieg, Rachel Schmitz (Shane), Jessica Fenhaus and Logan Fenhaus. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Charles Catholic Church in Big Stone City, SD.
