She was predeceased by: her parents, W. C. Hamann and Meta Hamann (Kohler); her husband Martin F. Schmidt; her brothers, Arthur Hamann (Marlys), Marvin Hamann and Lorance "Harry" Hamann; her nephew Blaine Hamann; and her niece Nancy Jane Hamann.
She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy Cordell of Manchester, NH, Linda Dornon (John) of Jerusalem, OH, Lisa Schmidt of Aberdeen, SD and Lynn Wettstone of Richmond, VA; her grandchildren, Samira Cordell, Anthony Cordell, Jamison Cordell, Ethan Dornon, Erin Wettstone, Brian Wettstone and Melissa Gerads; her nieces and nephews, Darcy, Paul, Timothy and Jarrod; her sister-in-law Bonnie Hamann; and her close friends, Betty Reinke, Phyllis Lieb and Charlotte Athey.
