She was predeceased by: her parents, W. C. Hamann and Meta Hamann (Kohler); her husband Martin F. Schmidt; her brothers, Arthur Hamann (Marlys), Marvin Hamann and Lorance "Harry" Hamann; her nephew Blaine Hamann; and her niece Nancy Jane Hamann.
She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy Cordell of Manchester, NH, Linda Dornon (John) of Jerusalem, OH, Lisa Schmidt of Aberdeen, SD and Lynn Wettstone of Richmond, VA; her grandchildren, Samira Cordell, Anthony Cordell, Jamison Cordell, Ethan Dornon, Erin Wettstone, Brian Wettstone and Melissa Gerads; her nieces and nephews, Darcy, Paul, Timothy and Jarrod; her sister-in-law Bonnie Hamann; and her close friends, Betty Reinke, Phyllis Lieb and Charlotte Athey.
A prayer was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM at the Mundwiler & Larson Funeral Home - Ortonville (401 2nd St SE, Ortonville, MN 56278). Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, December 7th 2024 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (341 Park St, Ortonville, MN 56278). A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 7th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mound Cemetery (900 Stephens Ave, Ortonville, MN 56278).
