She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Hauptli and Ida Hauptli (Schwantes); and her siblings, Mavis Erickson (Glen) and Elton Hauptli. She is survived by: her husband John Johnston of Olivia; her daughters, Julie Brudelie (Ryan) of Lewisville and Jill Hanson (Chris) of Olivia; and her grandchildren, Jack Hanson, Olivia Hanson, Will Hanson, Colby Brudelie and Carter Brudelie.
