She was predeceased by: her parents, William Garrett and Pearl Garrett; her children, Joel Buchanan and Jackie Sjolie; her grandsons, Michael Buchanan, Jeremy Buchanan and William Buchanan; her great grandchild Sloan Buchanan; and her brother George Garrett.
She is survived by: her son Joseph "Dan" Buchanan of Olivia; her daughter-in-law Lori Buchanan of Franklin; her daughter Veronica "Goober" Rykhus of New London; and her sister-in-law Beverly Garrett of Milbank, SD. She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren; her 33 great-grandchildren; her five great-great grandchildren.
