He was predeceased by: his parents, Wolfgang Bauman and Josephine Bauman (Theilen); his wife Leona "Toots" Steffel; his daughter Viann Haug (Paul); his siblings, Norbert, James, Eugene, Greg, Richard and Eileen Woelfel; and his brothers-in-law, Eldon Steffel and Gordon Steffel.
He is survived by: his grandchild Viann; his son Duane Bauman (Connie) of Olivia; his grandchildren, Bobby, Jonathan, Sean, Amanda and Jeremy; his sisters, Lois Schmidt of Winthrop, Vera Schmidt of Minneapolis and Dorothy Zumbach of Hutchinson; and his siblings-in-law, Lavonne Doubrava of Fergus Falls, Lucy Steffel of South St, Monica Steffel of Olivia, Marcella Bauman of Olivia, Larry Steffel (Jean) of Olivia and Maurice Woelfel of Bird Island. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
