He was predeceased by: his wife Doris; his brother Orville; and his parents, John Hanson and Inger Hanson. He is survived by: his children, Elmer, Doris, Karen Ramstorf (Bruce), Joel Hanson (Becky), Diane Hanson, Ellen Overbo, Mary Jo Lothspeich (Gerald) and Cheryl Degrugillier; and his foster son Daniel Lockskin. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 3 nieces.
