He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Fischer and Lillian Fischer (Hunt); his siblings, Robert Fischer, Helen Ferrara, Myron Fischer and Cletus Fischer (Carolyn); his son Kevin Fischer; and his great grandchild Lainey Buhman.
He is survived by: his wife Carol VanRisseghem; his children, Stephen Fischer (Barb), Mark Fischer (Kathy), Debra Coughlin (Kirk), David Fischer (Heshie Zinman), Tim Fischer (Doreen) and Lynne Ogg (Donnie); and his sister MaryJo Peterson-Walberg. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorial preferred to the American Diabetes Association or St Croix Hospice.
