With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Steven D. Bates of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, who passed away on April 22, 2023 at the age of 59. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandson Jeremiah Gonzalez; his parents-in-law, Patricia and Francis Vetsch; and his brothers-in-law, Steven Vetsch and Perry Peterson.
He is survived by: his parents, Larry Bates and Penny Bates (Rau); his wife Katie (Vetsch); his children, Alan Bates (Christine), Cassandra Lumpkin (Jim) and Hannah Gonzalez (Alberto); his grandchildren, James, Callista, Evelyn, Elijah, Ezra and Armani; and his siblings, Doug Bates (Jackie) and Karen Kallinen (John). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
