He was predeceased by: his brother Donn; and his parents-in-law, Eugene and Doris Dahl. He is survived by: his parents, Arvid Baumgartner and Caroline Baumgartner (Swanson); his wife Mary Beth; his children, Joseph Baumgartner and Libby Baumgartner (Nate Fenby); his grandson Milo Fenby; his siblings, Greg Baumgartner (Nancy) and Robin Baumgartner (Dave Skovlund); and his siblings-in-law, Steven Dahl (Kathy), Kathy Dahl and Karen Dahl. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Faith Lutheran Church (800 Waconia Pkwy N, Waconia, MN 55387). A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
