Gretchen Mehmel wrote a sympathy message

“We were so sorry to hear of Scott's passing. We've been reading his poems at our evening meals since we heard the news. However, we have been reading his poems off and on at our family meals for years. We treasure the poetry books he wrote and published for other poets. We will also never forget the time he spent with us at Norris Camp looking for dragonflies. We know Meadowhawks were his favorites. Our deep condolences to Scott's family. Gretchen Mehmel, Jeff Birchem & Johanna”
