He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Peterson and Irene Peterson (Peterson); and his sister Maxine. He is survived by: his wife Dotty; his children, Julie VanRiper (Max) of Blaine, Mark (Dawn) of Maplewood and Joanie Juhlin (Randy) of Calgary, Alberta; his grandchildren, Kristin Holz (Chad), Noah VanRiper (Becky), Jesse VanRiper (Alison), Ashley Beardmore (Ryan), Ian (Jenna), Jena Skara (Noah), Matthew Juhlin and Meghan Juhlin; and his great grandchildren, Lauren, Tyler, Eilee, Abby, Ella, Wren, Jackson and Harper.
He was in bowling league and was the oldest bowler in a bowling league up until the Covid-19 pandemic prevented him from playing.
