He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Detlie and Dorothy Detlie (Weed); his wife Jackie; and his son-in-law James Gilomen. He is survived by: his pet Sandy (Dolly); and his children, Dale (Renee) of Millersburg, Loren of Northfield, Lori Endres of Northfield and Tami Hackbarth (Todd) of Utica. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
