He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Gregory Peterson (Ann Sponberg) of Minneapolis, Khara Horning (Rob) of Aspen, CO and Timothy Peterson of Portland, ME; his granddaughters, Leah and Halle Horning; and his sister Beatrice Friesth of Apple Valley. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Olaf College, and the National Lutheran Choir.
