He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Pownell and Annie Pownell (Pederson). He is survived by: his wife Karen Hibma; his children, David (Rhonda) of Northfield, Kristin Nelson (Russell) of Minneapolis and Nathan (Marissa) of Burnsville; his grandchildren, Sarah (Ross), Anna, Jonathan, Samuel, Benjamin, Josiah, Gideon, Angellina, Gabriella, Isabella, Olivia, Will, Ava and Nathan; and his sister Marlene Graves of Mitchell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials are preferred to Emmaus Church kitchen fund, Missions Outreach or the Gideons.
