He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Sargent and Fredenburg; his siblings, Gertrude Moravec, Mary Ann Brayton, Judy Jones, Linda Sargent and Donald Sargent; and his children, Jack and Margaret.
He is survived by: his wife Melba Joy Howell of Northfield; and his children, Kathy Sargent of Beloit, WI, Ben Sargent, Mike James (Stacy) of Albert Lea, Chuck James (Sheri) of Dodge Center, David James of Coos Bay, OR, James Ingham (Dawn) of Columbus Junction, IA and Dundas. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
