With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gordon Smith of Northfield, Minnesota, born in Montevideo, Minnesota, who passed away on February 9, 2021 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Leon Grant and Edith Jane Smith (Lumley); his siblings, William, Eugene and Margaret; and his significant other JoAnn Isabelle Johnson.
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Louise Ferrington of Hackensack, Susan Jane Fox of Northfield, Deborah Jean Becker (David) of Northfield, Judith Allison Blaisdell (Joel) of Plano and Caroline Esther Smith (Craig Petersen) of Northfield; his grandchildren, Laura Ferrington Jones (Kenderick), David Ferrington, Thomas Fox (Kathryn Goggin), James Fox (Laura), Joseph Fox (Richelle Stillwagon), Peter Blaisdell (Kacey), Andrew Blaisdell (Katie), Jane Becker Nelson (Peter), Ann Becker Peterson (Adam), Margaret Friedrichs (Joseph) and Michael Nielsen (Billie Jo); his stepgrandchild Ryan Petersen; and his great grandchildren, Tatiana, Robert, Malcolm, William, Avery, Cadel, Daniel, Jesse, Westley, Joanna, Rebekah, Leah, Liv, Cora, Ritajane and Jackie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Due to Covid-19, funeral services will be private.
