He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Maas and Anna Maas (Paulson); and his siblings, Harry, Vernon, Howard, Melvin, Earl, Margaret Howard and Ruby Felt.
He is survived by: his wife Liz; his sons, Brad of Fort Stockton, Perry (Judy) of Uintah, Daren (Tanya) of Webster and Kemper (Aimee) of Madison, Wisconsin; his half-brother Eldon Maas of Minneapolis; and his siblings-in-law, Marge Maas of Minneapolis, Sharon Severson (Dale) of North Oaks, Dan Forsline (Kathryn) of Cook and Phil Forsline (Jan) of Portland, Oregon. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorials are preferred to Feed My Starving Children or Emmaus Church.
