He was predeceased by: his nephew Jim Burnham; his sister Frances Burnham; and his sister-in-law Lucille Leff. He is survived by: his spouse Marvelyn "Susie" Frerking of Lemmon; his children, Jared Leff (Teresa Romans) of Mobridge and Dr. Jami Leff Reister (Randolph Reister); his grandchildren, Benjamin, Jacob and Annika of Northfield, Minnesota.; and his siblings, Mary Ann Croy, Dr. Wenzel Leff (Julanne), John Leff and Helen Reede (Larry).

Although Covid-19 precautions prevented family visits for many months, his daughter was able to be with him in his final days.
