He was predeceased by: his wife Norma; and his siblings, Elaine Ruud and Gerald Gilbertson. He is survived by: his children, Sue Schlagel (Steven), Sheryl Finucane (Brian), Dan Gilbertson (Sheree) and Jeff Pierce (Cathy); and his grandchildren, Aaron Schlagel (Helena), Chandra Townsend (Jeramiah), Erik Schlagel (Alison), Sara Lokey (David), Caleb Gilbertson (Megan), Luke Gilbertson (Laura) and Micah Gilbertson (Azeneth). He is also survived by 20 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Mark's Sunday School or North St. Paul Food Shelf.
