He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Nixt and Eva Nixt (Shinn); and his brother Robert Varner (Maxine). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Tims; his sons, Mike Nixt of Minneapolis and Steve Nixt (Michelle) of North Mankato; his grandchildren, Samantha Kraushaar (Michael), Abby Nixt, Cassandra Nixt, Paige Nixt and Taylor Nixt; his great grandchild Augie James Kraushaar; his niece Linda Cassett; and his nephew James Varner.
