He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. John A. and Frances Butzer (Rock); his wife Shirley K. Ream; his siblings, Jack, Matt, Mary, Judy, Mark and Sue; and his daughter Meaghan Jewel.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Kurbanick (Cris) of Salt Springs, FL, Bridget Brandt (David) of Grinnell, IA, Damian, Heidi Butzer Ream, Todd Minong (Jodi) and Abby Butzer Ireland (Frank). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
