She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Meschke and Esther Meschke; her husband Leo Bernardy of Mary's Catholic Church; her grandson Scott Laughter; and her brother Alvin Meschke Jr..

She is survived by: her sons, Ken Laughter (Wendy), Edward Laughter (Lisa), David Laughter and William Bernardy; and her sister Norine Dupree (Mark). She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
